Senior Web App Developer – Ruby on Rails

Job Description

Currently, we are seeking a Senior Web Applications Developer with demonstrated programming experience and a strong work ethic to join our rapidly growing team.  We are looking for a programmer who takes pride in developing outstanding software and is constantly looking to improve the quality of his/her work.

Responsibilities

Contribute to new and existing client projects and enable ongoing product innovation. Responsibilities include: working as part of the Parallel6 Platform product development team across multiple client projects, owning portions of product enhancements as part of a broader product roadmap, mentoring other developers and contributing towards new technical innovations.  The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and self-motivated with a proven track record in delivering web technologies.  Beyond strong technical skills, we are looking for someone with strong conceptual and information architecture skills who is comfortable working in both paired programming assignments and as part of team.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer/developer using Ruby on Rails, Angular .JS, HTML5, CSS3. Javascript, jQuery, and SQL
  • Solid working knowledge of the Ruby language and the Rails framework is a must
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns and how they apply to Ruby
  • Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling for scalability and performance
  • Experience creating RESTful APIs for integration with mobile apps and web sites
  • Commitment to writing quality code through TDD – RSpec, Capybara, Phantom.JS
  • Proficiency with Git as a source code management tool
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with an Agile-based work tracking system such as Atlassian Jira, Assembla, or Rally
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)

Position Summary

The Parallel6 Customer Success Team is looking for a smart, driven Business Analyst responsible for creating business and functional requirements necessary to deliver new features and products in support of current and future customer and product needs.

Responsibilities

Support the development and implementaiton of our Clinical6 Platform offering that includes, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Management
  • Requirements Management
  • Regulatory Documentation and Workflow development
  • Training development
  • Understand client needs and market trends, through client interaction and other market research

Experience

Position Summary

This is an opportunity to lead and innovate in a fast-moving, dynamic company environment. The Implementation Consultant is responsible for ensuring Parallel6 technology is implemented and configured in accordance with standard business processes, meet client requirements and adhere to Good Clinical Data Management Practices. The position is based out of San Diego and requires up to 20% travel, domestically and internationally. Responsibilities

The Implementation Consultants work with Program Managers and other departments during the implementation and configuration of the Clinical6 Platform for clinical studies, in addition to helping in the training and ongoing program support. The IC will be the primary resource for authoring specification documents and used by different groups as well as configuring study design during the development of clinical studies.

  • Advise customers and internal staff on best practices for implementing the Clinical6 Platform
  • Work with Program Managers in translation of customer needs in terms of system functionality to ensure a match between needs and actual system capabilities/limitations
  • Work directly with the client to prepare, adapt, or agree on all specifications provided by the customer
  • Ensure that Technical/Clinical Services functions are aligned and meet Project timelines and deliverables
  • Assist in the scheduling of resources and ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Coordinate and support engineering during platform/solution implementations
  • Author specifications based upon client requirements, including functional test cases, for use in configuring and developing solutions as well as in custom integrations with other product
  • Configure the Clinical6 Platform to meet customer requirements
  • Support Training in preparation of course materials and delivery of courses both internally and externally
  • Support custom integrations to ensure final product meets customer requirements
  • Support customer during user acceptance testing cycle by resolving issues, answering questions, and guiding them through the process

  • Ensure transition from Testing to Production environments

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in software implementation experience
  • Required knowledge and experience working in the areas of software design/development, testing, technical operations and technical support.
  • Prior success as project manager or technical service lead for enterprise software implementation projects.
  • Experience implementing web/mobile application development, system integration, consulting or other technology delivery projects.
  • Experience in Agile software development

Education

Position Summary

Support testing activities and develop, publish and implement test plans to ensure product quality. Write and maintain test automation, develop quality assurance standards and define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering and customer success teams to provide testing support for agile software development sprints for multiple customers simultaneously.
  • Design traceability matrices, test plans and test scripts for mobile and platform software requirements
